Scott D. Underwood was born in 1957 in Marysville. He graduated from Marysville High School in 1975 as president of his class. He received a degree in Occupational Therapy in 1980 from The Ohio State University, where he was a member of “The Best Damn Band in the Land” for five years. A 1984 graduate of Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science, he is a member, elder and choir director of First Presbyterian Church of Marysville.
Holly J. Stefanyk Underwood was born in 1958 and grew up on a farm in northern Ohio where she was involved in showing horses. She graduated in 1976 from Hillsdale High School and was named the Ohio State Fair Queen in 1977. She was chosen National FFA Queen the same year. A 1980 graduate of The Ohio State University with a degree in journalism and public relations, she was a medical sales specialist until joining her husband at the funeral home. A licensed funeral director, she is a member and elder of First Presbyterian Church of Marysville.
The Underwoods raised three children, Grant, Grace and Mallory. All three musicians, teachers and caregivers, the Underwood son and daughters have participated throughout the years assisting with funerals and community functions.
